Shredded Mild Cheddar (Or your cheese of preference)
2 slices of bread
Butter
1/2 Onion
1 Apple -- I prefer Gala for red apples they are crisp and sweet. Or a green pear would taste lovely too
tbs Olive Oil
Get a pan hot on the stove add tbs olive oil.
Add onions to the pan, watch, and stir for appox 20min. The onions will caramelize in this process. Be sure to watch it or the onions could burn.
Shred the cheese and slice the apple
Butter the sides of the bread
Initially I cooked the apples, but turns out I prefer the apples better raw to give a nice crunch.
Then place in the pan. About 3min on each side. Make sure the pan isn't too hot or it will burn the bread before the cheese melts. Flip - 3more min, and Grilled Cheese.
